I decided to use Project 1 about Dweck’s TED Talk and Lukianoff and Haidt’s article as I feel I have expressed myself the best on that paper. Lukianoff/Haidt’s article was really something I felt I could argue against effectively. My paper focused on how Lukianoff and Haidt described college students and how the way they express themselves, with the article authors describing that basically as weak-minded and going against critical thinking. Arguing against that, I use Dweck’s mindsets to describe how these students process information and how Lukianoff and Haidt’s perspective on it is archaic. Students are able to critically thinking while expressing emotions, and these emotions can even be helpful.
